Standard test guidelines for acute toxicity most often require an LC50 calculation. ABC Laboratories has decades of experience conducting these tests with dozens of freshwater and marine species. But we also have the expertise to perform research studies to collect more meaningful toxicity data. This includes the development of test methods for new target species that might be facing a specific risk, conducting studies with more environmentally relevant endpoints such as long-term survival, growth, and reproduction, and modifying standard test procedures to look at the effect of environmental variability on exposure and toxicity.

Expertise in Endocrine Disruption

ABC scientists have experience running ecotoxicity studies specifically designed to look for effects on the endocrine system of fish, invertebrates, and amphibians. These studies are required by the EPA’s new Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program or are currently being evaluated for inclusion in the battery of definitive tests that will be required in the coming years.
